Welcome to The Coop by Roosters, a culinary gem nestled in Layton, Utah, located at 748 Heritage Park Blvd #102. This vibrant establishment, known for its delightful fusion of flavors and inviting atmosphere, has quickly become a favorite among locals and food enthusiasts alike. If you’re on the hunt for scrumptious sandwiches, tantalizing platters, and unforgettable wings, The Coop promises an experience that tantalizes your taste buds.

The Coop is helmed by the former owner of the beloved Holy Smoke BBQ, and the legacy continues with expertly crafted meats that define the menu's standout selections. One guest, Eric Cook, sang praises for the exquisite wings dressed in a superb plum sauce, which he deemed even better than traditional BBQ wings, earning a solid 9 out of 10 in his review. It’s clear that this restaurant focuses not only on quality but also on variety, ensuring that every visitor finds something delightful to savor.

A versatile menu presents a polished selection of dishes, yet it does carry its drawbacks; some patrons feel the offerings may be limited. However, regulars rave about the chicken tacos and wholesome sides that keep them coming back for more. The ambiance overall is highlighted as a great spot for lunch, with a quieter vibe suitable for daytime visits, while the evenings bring life with game nights and other engaging activities, as noted by Dana Jensen.

One of the highlights of The Coop is their burgers, as Cindy Vitands proclaimed them to be the best in town. Juicy, flavor-packed, and perfectly constructed, paired with fries that are crispy and fluffy, the experience is nothing short of divine. The fry sauce, in particular, is described as “addictive,” a condiment creation that elevates every bite. This attention to detail in food and service creates an inviting environment that feels like home, making everyone feel welcome.

The bar’s extensive drink menu complements the food beautifully, with customer Andres Osorio noting the cozy lounge area and decent selection of drinks, enhancing the overall dining experience. The friendly staff, as highlighted by James M'Olesson, ensure that each visit feels personal, encouraging many, including those who live out of state, to return again and again.

In conclusion, The Coop by Roosters is not just a restaurant—it's a delightful escape into flavor where community and great food come together. One of our favorites. The former owner of Holy Smoke BBQ (so sad this place is no longer open) is cooking the meat for the sandwiches and platters. The service has been good. The food has been great. The wings with the plum sauce are delicious and better than the BBQ sauce wings. 21 only. 9/10 and will visit again.

Had the Coop Cater a party and the food was phenomenal!... I had nearly 50 guests at my party and every single person that came to the party, agreed that the food was incredible! It’s a yearly party that I have and the Coop will be catering this year’s as well!

Loved it! My coworkers and I have been missing Holy Smokes. This is my first time here to try his food from the original restaurant. Quality was great, prices were a little high , and portion sizes were a little small. I was not disappointed though. I do wish they had buffalo chips on the menu and burnt ends on Fridays but I guess all my wishes cannot come true.

We love the quiet, great atmosphere at The Coop at lunch time. This place is 21. Our service has always been exceptional - friendly & very attentive. The food is great; however the menu is limited. We love the chicken tacos and have enjoyed trying most of the different side dishes. I believe it has a more lively vibe at night and on the weekends as we've seen them advertise game nights & other activities.

If you’re looking for the best burgers and fries in town, look no further than Roosters The Coop! From the first bite, it was clear we were in for something special. The burgers were perfectly juicy, packed with flavor, and stacked just right—not overloaded, but every ingredient played its part beautifully. And the fries? Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. But let’s talk about the real star of the show: the fry sauce. This wasn’t just any sauce; it was a divine creation. So smooth, so rich, so downright addictive, it could only be compared to Jesus’ baby gravy—a holy experience in condiment form. We found ourselves dunking everything in it, and honestly, if they bottled it, we’d be first in line to buy a gallon. Great food, chill atmosphere, and service that makes you feel at home—Roosters The Coop is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back for more!

Overall a pretty good time! We only got small items, but the rest of the menu looks good. Decent selection of drinks, full bar. There are tables as well as a lounge area with couches.

Bright, trendy atmosphere. It is a 21 location, but the bartenders were excellent. I ordered Chips and Dip to start with, and received a massive amount of freshly fried potato chips and a very tasty dip. I was going to try the pork, but the chips took their toll and I had the seared scallops. It is a small plate, but it was very good. One comment, not a complaint; but the chef should remove the little muscle on the side of the scallops as they add a chewy texture to an otherwise tender scallop.
